THEATRE PRODUCTION

  Students  learn all aspects of producing a play, including  directing, acting, scene design, construction, publicity,and design. Students get hands-on experience with addressing the production process utilized in professional theatre and learn how to use concept of design to promote a message. Students work together and establish a community of teamwork  in the process of creating influential theatre material. Students will perform or assist with at least two productions throughout the year.

 

COURSE OBJECTIVES

  • To learn and utilize the design principles  of scenic and prop design

  • To learn and utilize the design principles of lighting design

  • To learn and utilize the design principles of costume and makeup design

  • To learn the skills and responsibilities  of the stage manager

  • To learn the skills and responsibilities  of stage crew

  • To learn the skills and responsibilities  of booth personnel

  • To learn the skills and responsibilities  of the director

  • To learn the skills and responsibilities  of the producer
